Urban settlement

An Urban settlement is a concentrated settlement that constitutes or is part of an urban area. It is an area with high density of human-created structures.These geometrical patterns are usually in squares and rectangles and are well laid out.

All places which satisfy the following criteria:

• All places with a minimum population of 5000

• At least 75% of the male working population engaged in non agricultural industry

• A density of population atleast400 persons per sq. km

These are the Census towns.
