Aleika Castle
Aleika Castle or Aliqa Castle (Arabic: قلعة العليقة) is located in Aliqa near Tartous at distance 85 km, it consists of two floor structures, like a castle within another. Historically (12th century) it was under Syrian Nizari Ismaeli control, and had part during the crusades. Cemetery stones are found there with Latin inscriptions, which confirms that fights took place here during crusades. The king Zaher Bibros is mentioned in the archives of the Syrian Tourism ministry.
