Ukrainian Grey cattle

Ukrainian Grey Cattle on post stamp.

The Ukrainian Grey Cattle or Ukrainian Steppe Cattle (Ukrainian: Сіра українська порода, Sira ukrayin'ska) is an ancient cattle breed from Ukraine.[1] Descended from European steppe cattle, this hardy breed has been used for meat and draft power, and is similar to breeds such as Italy's Podolica cattle and the Hungarian Grey cattle. In this primitive breed, both cows and bulls have horns, as well as grey hides which are their namesake. Numbers since the 1980s have been low, at around 1,000 head or less,[2] and the breed is included in the Slow Food Ark of Taste.[3]
