The two-banded seabream (Diplodus prayensis) is a species of marine fish of the Sparidae (Sparids) family. This fish grows to 35 cm maximal length. It occurs in the eastern Atlantic, off the coast of Cape Verde down to the depths of about 100 metres. The species was named by Jean Cadenat in 1964. The species name "prayensis" refers to Praia, the capital of Cape Verde.

Description

It feeds on invertebrates and algae.

Distribution

The fish are founded in waters down to 100 metres deep.
