Álvaro Luis Bernat Dalton (born February 13, 1975) is a Mexican-American theater and TV actor as well as an accomplished screenwriter and producer.
Career as an actor
Tony Dalton studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York. During this period he participated in small Off Broadway productions such as The Ballad of the Sad Café and A Streetcar Named Desire, among others. He acted as an extra in the movies Minotaur and Scriptfellas. Back in Mexico, Dalton gained notability for having produced and acted in the TV series No te Equivoques (2001), as well as in the soap operas Ramona (2000), Clase 406 (2002), and Rebelde (2004–2006). His first successful film venture was Matando Cabos (2004), the first production of Lemon Films, where he enjoyed a starring role and also co-authored the screenplay. From there, he continued as an actor, appearing in Volver, Volver (2005), Mujer Alabastrina (2006), Efectos Secundarios (2006) and an episode of the TV series 13 Miedos (2007). He also landed roles in 2008's Love, Pain and Vice Versa and 2009's Amar. In 2010, he landed a part in the short film Mano a Mano, directed by Jose Barrera. Among the many roles he had during this time period, he places emphasis on Sultanes del Sur (2007), an action movie shot in Mexico City and Buenos Aires in Argentina, where besides playing the main character, Dalton also wrote the screenplay. A notable work on television was the hit series Los Simuladores, where he played one of the protagonists — Mario Santos (logistics and planning) — along with Alejandro Calva, Arath de la Torre and Ruben Zamora. In theater, his most recent work was the play El Año Próximo a la Misma Hora, where he worked with Alejandra Barros. The play was a great success and reached over 200 performances in Mexico City (2011). Dalton was the antagonist of the telenovela Flor Salvaje alongside Mónica Spear, Roberto Manrique, José Luis Reséndez, Norkys Batista, and Gregorio Pernía. The telenovela was recorded at Colombia. In 2015 he was the co-protagonist of Telemundo's series Dueños Del Paraiso.
