Biography

Born in Zollikofen, Bern, Switzerland, Winkler started his music career in 2009 after finishing his studies at the University of Bern as Master of Law by joining Swiss heavy metal bands Emerald and T-Rage.[3]

Winkler has also lent his voice to Chinese power metal band Barque of Dante for their single "Way of Your Life" in 2011 and stated he would contribute the vocals for their second studio album.[4]

In 2010, he uploaded a video of him auditioning for the role of the lead singer for the British power metal band Dragonforce. This led to Christopher Bowes, the lead singer of the Scottish-based pirate metal band Alestorm, to discover him and offer him to join his new band, Gloryhammer. He initially declined but joined sometime later after several more offers.[5]

He has been a member of the band since 2012, and has recorded two full length albums with them.[6]
