The Art Institute of Ohio – Cincinnati was one of The Art Institutes, a system of more than 40 educational institutions located throughout North America, providing education in design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts. The Art Institutes system was a subsidiary of Education Management Corporation (EDMC), which was headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Founded in 2004, The Art Institute of Ohio – Cincinnati was located at 8845 Governors Hill Drive in the Cincinnati suburb of Mason, Ohio. However, according to the Cincinnati Business Courier, the college’s original facility was shared with its former EDMC sister school Brown Mackie College .

The Art Institute of Ohio – Cincinnati was accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) as well as by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) as a branch of The Illinois Institute of Art — Chicago. In 2015, due to ongoing financial issues, the college stopped enrolling students, and would eventually close in late 2017.
