Golden bulbuls are any passerine birds in the genus Thapsinillas, of the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae. They are found in the Moluccas.
Taxonomy and systematics
Formerly known as a single species in the genus Alophoixus, the golden bulbul has since been re-classified into its own genus and split into three separate species in 2008:[1][2]
- Seram golden bulbul (Thapsinillas affinis)
- Northern golden bulbul (Thapsinillas longirostris)
- Buru golden bulbul (Thapsinillas mysticalis)
