Terri Blackstock

Terri Blackstock (born December 7, 1957 in Belleville, Illinois) is a Christian fiction writer. Blackstock is known for her numerous published novels spanning across genre from Christian romances to Christian mystery/suspense. Terri Blackstock’s books have sold six million copies worldwide. Her suspense novels often grab a spot on the ECPA and New York Times Bestseller lists. Known for her “Up All Night Fiction,” Blackstock has had twenty-five years of success as a novelist.

Writing

In 1994 Blackstock was writing for publishers such as HarperCollins, Harlequin and Silhouette, when a spiritual awakening drew her into the Christian market. Since that time, she’s written over thirty Christian titles, in addition to the thirty-two she had in the secular market.

In addition to her suspense novels, she has written a number of novels in the women’s fiction genre, including Covenant Child, which was chosen as one of the first Women of Faith novels, and her “Seasons” books written with Beverly LaHaye, wife of Tim LaHaye.

Her most recent series is the Intervention Series—which deals particularly with teen drug abuse—includes Intervention which was published in 2009 and Vicious Cycle which was published in 2011. The next book, Downfall releases in March 2012. The Intervention Series was to contain only three books, but Terri has mentioned on her Facebook page that she is in the talks of possibly writing more. Intervention and Vicious Cycle both made their way onto the New York Times Bestseller list.

Blackstock asked her fans for advice on what they would title one of her books. This novel used to be one of her secular books, but it was dear to her, so she decided that she was going to rewrite it to be fitting for the Christian market. The four choices for the title were Pros and Cons, Truth-Stained Lies, Shadow in Serenity and Black Sheep. Shadow in Serenity won and was released in September 2011.

Blackstock has won the Retailer’s Choice Award and has appeared on national television programs such as The 700 Club, Home Life, and At Home Live with Chuck and Jenny. She has been a guest on numerous radio programs across the country and the subject of countless articles. The story of her personal journey appears in books such as Touched By the Savior by Mike Yorkey, True Stories of Answered Prayer by Mike Nappa, Faces of Faith by John Hanna, and I Saw Him In Your Eyes by Ace Collins.
