Use in sport

The Louisiana State University Tiger Marching Band has been known for playing the song, typically referred to as simply "Neck", as a fight song at its football games. It quickly became associated with a vulgar crowd chant, "suck that tiger dick, bitch",[2] prompting the song to be banned from play by the band from 2010 to 2013.[3] The song has since been played on limited occasions, and LSU has attempted to perform advocacy campaigns to discourage such fan behaviour at its games. One playing of the song in 2017 following a victory against Texas A&M was requested by LSU alumni and New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who was in attendance and promised to pay any fines induced by the performance himself.[4][5][6]

The song has also been invoked as part of LSU's rivalry with the Florida Gators; in 2016, Florida players were heard playing and singing along to "Talkin' Out da Side of Ya Neck!" in their locker room after victory at the Tigers,[6] In 2017, the LSU band played the song as Florida players entered the field for warmup, and the following year, Florida's band played the song during a game against LSU.[7]
