The great spinetail (Siptornopsis hypochondriaca) is a species of bird in the Furnariidae family. It is considered monotypic within the genus Siptornopsis by the IOC but this classification is not followed by all authorities.[2][3] It is endemic to Peru. Its natural habitat is Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation. It is threatened by habitat loss.
