Summary

Melinda finally reunites with her father, Tom Gordon, after a long search and under suspicious circumstances. While searching for him she discovered he was a prosecutor in Grandview before he disappeared, and a spirit led her to a case he had prosecuted that involved the murder of a young boy, Michael. Tom had convicted the man who found the body, Paul Eastman, of the murder, sending him to prison where he escaped during a fire. However, before finding out that her father was in town, Melinda, led by clues left by the mysterious spirit, had approached Michael’s family hoping to get information from them about her dad. When she met with Michael’s mother she discovered that his ghost was still living with her, and that she was well aware of it. Melinda tries to convince Michael to go in to the light, but Mother and son are happy with the way things are. Melinda then discovers that Michael wasn’t murdered at all, that he had died after falling from a tree. After confronting Michael about it, he tells Melinda that Paul had found his body because Paul was also a ghost whisperer. Michael had told him where to search, and because of that Paul went to prison an innocent man. Knowing her father has been on the run for a long time, Melinda then assumes that he was running from Paul, who was hunting him to seek revenge. After getting Michael to cross over, Melinda rushes to find her father to warn him about Paul, but when she gets to his hotel it appears that she’s too late. To be continued…
