Stephen Donald Rucker (born June 27, 1949) is an American composer better known simply as Steve Rucker.

Personal life

Rucker lives in Malibu, California, with his wife and son. He is also a former member of a band Chi where he was joined by his partner Thomas Chase. He grew up in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, in California, and attended Grant High School.

Partnership with Thomas Chase

Along with Chase, he has done music for many TV shows, including Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light, The Wuzzles, Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Bionic Six, Codename: Kids Next Door, Detention, Pirates of Dark Water, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, The Mighty Orbots, The New Adventures of Captain Planet, Dexter's Laboratory, ChalkZone, DuckTales, Stories From My Childhood, Oh Yeah! Cartoons, Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys, Dynamo Duck, Tim Conway's Funny America, Mr. T, Sweet Sea, Powermasters, Freddy's Nightmares, Conan the Adventurer, The Adventures of Corduroy and The Powerpuff Girls.

The two also did scores for movies, including Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, The Tale of Tillie's Dragon, Creature, Alien Predator, 976-EVIL, Scared to Death and its sequel Syngenor, Armed Response, Pray for Death, Monster in My Pocket, The Fanatics, Dot and Spot's Magical Christmas Adventure, Bulletproof, A Wish for Wings That Work among others.

Rucker and Chase have also established their own company, Chase/Rucker Productions. Under that name, the company went on to compose music for several shows and movies such as The Snorks, Salty's Lighthouse, The Real Ghostbusters, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Galaxy High School, Catch the Heat, Hammerman, Defenders of Dynatron City and Timeless Tales from Hallmark.

They also wrote the song "Planted Page" for the 1997 movie Family Plan.

They have also written and composed all the songs except "Airport Welcome" and "A House is Not a Home" in the television special Rockin' with Judy Jetson.
