St. Brendan Church in San Francisco

St. Brendan Church in San Francisco is a parish of the Archdiocese of San Francisco in San Francisco, California. St. Brendan's parish serves the neighborhoods of Forest Hill, St. Francis Wood, and the area near the Laguna Honda Hospital. The parish itself was born in 1929 from parishioners of nearby St. Cecilia who wanted to form their own parish. The beautiful, small church is a California mission-style structure with a distinctive bell tower and a parish hall beneath. A statue of the parish's patron saint, St. Brendan the Navigator, stands in front of the church. The parish school with the same name, founded in 1947, is located across the street from the church. The school serves people from the surrounding neighborhood, and includes a parish center/gymnasium. The school is kindergarten through eighth grade and teaches the students based on the Catholic principles in accordance with the archdiocese.
