Sree Koottala Bhagavathy Kshethram, Kunnukara (ശ്രീ കൂട്ടാല ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം, കുന്നുകര)is a Devi temple located in Vayalkara, Kunnukara and is accessible by Athani-North Paravoor Road. The main Deity worshipped in this temple is Sree Nana Durga and is surrounded by dietes- Shiva, Shastavu. Nagadevatas are also worshipped in this temple. As per initial belief system Sree Nana Durga was wrongly considered and worshipped as Sree Bhadrakali and hence Mudiyettu was conducted. Later when the truth was realised a new idol of Balabhadra was established in the temple compound. The annual fest is conducted during April- May months every year which attracts lots of devotees from Kunnukara and all the other neighboring villages. Mudiyettu is conducted on the last day of the 9 day long fest which usually marks the closure of the fest. This temple is approximately 13 kilometres from it's nearest Railway Station Aluva and equally distanced from Cochin International Airport Limited. (CIAL)
