The Southern Utah Thunderbirds Basketball team is the men's basketball team that represents Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah.[2] The school's team currently competes in the Big Sky Conference.[3] The Thunderbirds are coached by Todd Simon.

The Thunderbirds have appeared once in the NCAA Tournament in 2001. They were eliminated in the first round by Boston College giving them a tournament record of 0–1.[4]
