Flute Sonata in A major, BWV 1032

The Sonata in A major for transverse flute and harpsichord by J. S. Bach (BWV 1032) is a sonata in 3 movements:

  • Vivace (in A major)
  • Largo e dolce (in A minor, ending with an imperfect cadence) – unusually this movement is written in the parallel key, rather than the relative key, to the home key.
  • Allegro (in A major)

The autograph is incomplete, and there are 45–48 bars missing. There exist reconstructions by various authors.
