Club career
He played in the Philippines with Ceres FC[1] from 2014 to 2016[2] before moving to Singapore to play for the Tampines Rovers in 2017.[3] During this time, he has played against clubs in Asia such as South China AA FC of Hongkong, Rimyongsu Sports Club of North Korea, Selangor of Malaysia, and Maziya of Maldives. A midfielder, Son played as a left, center, and right back for his former club—Ceres—in their three games against Tampines Rovers.[4]

During this match, he also scored his first goal for Tampines Rovers Football Club[2] Son has also made his league debut for the Tampines Rovers after he played in the 1-2 defeat to Albirex Niigata Singapore FC, which is also the first match of his club in the 2017 S. League season.[5]
Public image and civic involvement
Son has been tagged by the media as the "Smiling Assassin"[6] in Singapore, as he has always flashed his smile whenever the customary pre-match photo is taken. He is famous for his craft but also for his bright personality and sense of humour.[7] In the Philippines, Son has amassed respect and support from fans. During his first match against his former team, Ceres, Son played for the Singapore side under Tampines Rovers and returned to his former home stadium in Panaad Park and Stadium. It was this time that he again caught the eye of the media through his philanthropic deeds.[7] He raised money to help fund a child's surgery. In his free time, he is immersing and volunteering in different philanthropic activities.
