He was created a baronet, of Gwynfryn in the Parish of Llanystumdwy in the County of Carnarvon and of Cefndeuddwr in the Parish of Trawsfynydd in the County of Merioneth, in 1898.[4]

Ellis-Nanney married the Honourable Elizabeth Octavia Dillon, daughter of Robert Dillon, 3rd Baron Clonbrock, in 1875. He died in June 1920, when the baronetcy became extinct. Lady Ellis-Nanney died in January 1928.[5]
