Sikander is an upcoming Pakistani action romantic thriller film directed by Moammar Rana, based on the true events. The film stars Rana, Haya Sehgal, Nadeem Baig, and Mathira. Partially filming began in July 2015 in Lahore, while the other took place in Karachi. The film marked as the directorial debut of Rana.

In May 2015, it was announced that actor Moammar Rana would be making his directorial debut with the true-events based romance thriller film Sikander, in which he would also play the lead titular role.[1][2] Female lead was expected to be cast a newcomer, with filming scheduled to begin in July 2015.[1][2] In late-May, the film's production was launched during an event in Karachi, along with its first poster and more cast was announced including Nadeem Baig and Haya Sehgal.[3] The film would be made under his own banner The Monarch Films, with Rana's wife Mehnaz Moammar producing it.[4][5] In June 2015, it was confirmed that cricketer Shoaib Akhtar would make his film debut by appearing in an item number which would be filmed in Lahore after Eid al-Fitr.[5] Later it was revealed that some other sportspeople will also be featuring in the film.[6] In September 2015, Mathira revealed that she would be playing the villainous role in the film, which revolves around the underworld.[7] Adel Farooq would also star in the film.[8]

Filming

An item number featuring Akhtar was filmed in July 2015 in Lahore right after Eid al-Fitr.[2][5] Two songs were filmed in Bangkok, while other filming took place in Karachi.[1][7] In Karachi, filming locations including Jamshed Quarters and Habib Bank Plaza, with Salman Razzak as the film's director of photography.[8]

Music

The film would feature seven different songs from various artists including Fariha Pervez, Humera Arshad, Waris Baig, and Abrar-ul-Haq.[1][2] The film's music will include an item number also. Sahir Ali Bagga would be composing the music.[4]
