Ohanna Shivanand (Born Shilpa Anand)[2] is an Indian model, television and film actress who is known for her two different television roles as Dr. Riddhima Gupta[3] and Dr. Shilpa Malhotra[4] in Dill Mill Gayye.[5] She has also starred in films and music videos.[6]
Early life
Anand was born on 10 December 1982 in South Africa and did her schooling there. Her parents were from India, and later she moved there. In 2015 she changed her name to Ohanna Shivanand.[7] She is the younger sister of Sakshi Shivanand, who is an actress from Karnataka.[8] Anand studied at Panjab University, obtaining a Masters in Computer Applications (MCA), from 2000 to 2003. She worked as a software developer for five years, with Java J2EE application development and E-Learning.
Career
Modeling career
Anand started her career as a model. She has done over 40 commercials, including for Coca-cola with Aamir Khan, Lux soap with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Dabur Pudin Hara and Nerolac Paint with Amitabh Bachchan. She has also worked as a model advertising a variety of brands.
She has also done music videos, starring in Kachichiyan (2014) with Paras Arora and Zuber, Khwaishein (2014) with Shael Oswal and Over Under (2016) with Tarsem Jassar. Her other music videos were Gol Gol Akh (2002) and Kuch Der Tak (2007).
Film career
Anand's acting debut was in the South Indian Film Bezawada Police Station (2000). She made her Bollywood debut with Ravi Shankar’s film Iqraar by Chance (2006), as Rashmi Mehra.[9]
Television career
Anand is also a television actress. She began her television career with the medical youth show Dill Mill Gayye on Star One, where she played the role of Dr. Riddhima Gupta. She left the show in 2008.[10]
In June 2010, Anand returned to Dill Mill Gayye as Dr. Shilpa Malhotra on fans demand.[4][11]
In 2012, she played the role of Meera in the anthology series Teri Meri Love Stories.[12]
