Sadda is the second largest town in Kurram after the capital Parachinar. It is a big trade market for the people of Lower Kurram and Central Kurram. Sadda is located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) southeast of Parachinar. The nearest main city on the Afghan side of the border is Khost, which is located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) to the southwest of Sadda.

Demographics

The majority tribes are the Orakzai and Bangash. Other minority tribes are Paracha, Para chamkani, Turi and Jaji. Being a trading point, it bustles with business activity attracting customers and traders from all over Kurram Agency. It has with time become a multi tribe region. In 2007 unrest, there were many tabliban leaders leaving in Sadda.
