The SS City of Brooklyn

The City of Brooklyn was a steam ship built in Glasgow 1868 by Tod & McGregor. It was owned and operated by the Inman Line. The ship had a gross weight of 2,911 and its dimensions were 354.4 ft x 42.5 ft. The ship travelled from Liverpool to New York. It was wrecked on 8 November 1885 on Anticosti Island. No lives were lost.

Source, my husband Michael James Manning was 3rd engineer, working for Ellerman Lines on the City boats Florence, Lyons, Dundee, Brooklyn, Chelmsford and Sydney from 1951 to 1957 as 5th to 2nd engineer.
