Roger Cross (born October 19, 1969) is a Jamaican-born Canadian actor who has made numerous appearances in several movies and TV series, mostly on productions shot in Canada. He is best known for his work in America on 24 as CTU Agent Curtis Manning, and in Canada for his work on First Wave. From 2012-2015, Cross appeared in the Canadian series Continuum as a main character. He also appeared as Staff Sergeant Boyd Bloom in the Canadian police procedural Motive, and as Six / Griffin Jones in the Syfy series Dark Matter.
Early life
Cross was born in Christiana, Jamaica.[1] At age eleven, his family emigrated to Canada, settling in Vancouver, British Columbia.[1] He graduated with a degree in Aviation and General Studies from Trinity Western University.[1] Before his acting career, Cross was a professional pilot.[2]
Career
Cross was cast in guest roles on such series as Street Justice, The X-Files,[3] Sliders, Stargate SG-1,[4] Highlander: The Series,[3] Relic Hunter, The 4400, Higher Ground, Star Trek: Enterprise and Chuck. He was also a regular on the sci-fi series First Wave[5] and appeared in such films as The Chronicles of Riddick, X2,[1] Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, Beautiful Joe, Free Willy 3: The Rescue, World Trade Center, Re-Kill[6] and Mad Money.[7]
Cross is best known for his role as CTU Agent Curtis Manning on the Fox television drama 24.[2][8] He also appears as DJ and drag queen Sunset Boulevard/Sonny Benson in the Showtime series The L Word.[9] Cross appeared as prison inmate Anton Burrows in the Season 3 episode of Flashpoint, "Just a Man". He also appeared as a werewolf and football coach on ABC's short-lived supernatural crime drama The Gates.
Cross' other notable roles include Staff Sergeant Boyd Bloom in Motive,[5] Detective Lucas Hilton in Arrow,[5] Reggie Fitzwilliam in The Strain,[4][10] Travis Verta in Continuum[10] and Six in Dark Matter.[10][4]
Cross did voice-over work as "Ulysses" in the Fallout: New Vegas add-ons, "Old World Blues" and "Lonesome Road".
Personal life
Cross is in a long term relationship with actress and yoga instructor Josephine Jacob. They have two sons.[1]
