Robinsons Supermarket is a supermarket chain in the Philippines, a division of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc.

Company information and history

Robinsons Supermarket Corporation is one of the largest supermarket chains in the Philippines today. Its first branch, Robinsons Supermarket Cebu Fuente, opened in 1985. Today, it has 157 branches across the Philippines (and it is also the second largest supermarket chain in terms of number of stores). It has three formats which include Robinsons Selections, Robinsons Easymart & Robinsons Supermarket. Robinsons Supermarket belongs to the Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. (RRHI) group along with Robinsons Department Store, Handyman Do It Best Center, Robinsons Appliances, Top Shop, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Toys R Us and True Value, Robinsons Retail also owns South Star Drug, the country's oldest and second largest drugstore chain (which Robinsons acquired South Star in 2012). Robinsons Retail also acquires mid-sized supermarket chain Jaynith's Supermarket on January 2014. Last March 23, 2018, Dairy Farm's Rustans Supermarket chain of 73 stores (Marketplace by Rustan's and Shopwise Supermarket) joined RRHI as part of a stock investment ex-deal.
