Robin Wright-Jones was a Democratic member of the Missouri Senate, representing the 5th district from 2007 to 2013. Jamilah Nasheed succeeded her in this office. Her district covers part of City of St. Louis. She previously served as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 2002 through 2007, after winning a special election on March 26, 2002.
In 2013, the state ethics commission fined Wright-Jones more than $270,000 for allegedly spending $14,169 in campaign funds, including nearly $1,800 at a clothing boutique in Creve Coeur, $362 for "Scottrade tickets" and trips to Schnucks. She has appealed the ruling.
