"Right in the Night (Fall in Love with Music)" is a song by German electronic music duo Jam & Spoon. It was released in October 1993 on the German label Dance Pool as the second single from their album, Tripomatic Fairytales 2001.

Release

It is widely regarded as one of the biggest electronic music anthems of the 1990s, reaching number-one in Greece, Spain and Finland and number 2 in Iceland, Italy and Australia in 1994. It also reached number 10 in the Netherlands and in the UK in its 1995 re-release. It has been extensively anthologised, further indicating the song's significance in trance music's evolution.

The song is a Eurodance song[1] with elements from Progressive. It is based on "Leyenda" by the classical composer Isaac Albéniz and features vocals by American vocalist Plavka, with lyrics by Nosie Katzmann.

Critical reception

Billboard wrote about the song: "Popular European production team/recording act finally gets a shot at U.S. stardom with a jumpy, disco/pop ditty that strobes with bright synths and a killer hook. At first, singer Plavka will have you thinking of Madonna, though her own unique tones and nuances eventually shine through. She has a field day with the song, more than holding her own against the track's busy array of sound effects."[2]

The Gavin Report wrote: "Hailing from Germany are Jam & Spoon. Jam El Mar is a dancefloor producer and Mark Spoon is one of Europe's most prestigious DJs. Vocals are courtesy of Plavka, who is known as one of the UK's hottest rave stars. With the popularity dance music is currently experiencing at Top 40, this high-energy tune should have no trouble making its way up the chart soon."[3]

Music & Media wrote: "This fast but mellow house track with ambient works so well that it should go a long way to establish this well-reputed remix and production duo as artists in their own right. Its familiar theme should make it of interest for programmers as well."[4]

"Right in the Night" is a song by Danish recording artist Whigfield. It was released on 10 July 2008 as the second single from her greatest hits album All in One.[29] The song was originally released by Jam & Spoon in 1993.
