René Gateaux

René Eugène Gateaux French: [ʁəne øʒɛn ɡɑto]) (5 May 1889 in Vitry-le-François – 3 October 1914 in Rouvroy), was a French mathematician. He is known for the Gâteaux derivative. Part of his work has been posthumously published by Paul Lévy. Gateaux was killed during World War I.
