Simochromis pleurospilus is a species of cichlid endemic to the southwestern portion of Lake Tanganyika in East Africa.[1] It can reach up to 12 centimetres (4.7 in) in total length.[2] It is poorly known, but recent reviews suggest that it likely belongs in Pseudosimochromis and may be a synonym of P. babaulti.[3][4]
