Evocabank, known as Prometey Bank until September 2018, is an Armenian innovative commercial bank, which is headquartered in Yerevan. It was founded in 1990 by Simon Gevorgyan.
The bank is jointly owned by Prometey City LLC and Vazgen Simon Gevorkyan.[2]
Evocabank is a multi-profile financial institution with no specific financial service concentration.

Modern technologies in Evocabank
The strategy of Evocabank aims at providing fast, simple, and innovative services with the active use of latest information technologies and with the focus on the development of mobile financial services. The bank operates in Mobile First format.
On October 1, 2017 the new EvocaTouch mobile banking application was launched. Each and every new service introduced by the bank is created to be used via a mobile app.

It provides ongoing support to the development of the latest technologies, startups and innovative initiatives, and carries out various initiatives promoting educational, scientific and cultural initiatives of the youth.
Brief chronology
- 1990: The Bank was founded as “Prometheus” commercial bank. At that time it was operating on 19 Hrachya Kochar Street, Yerevan.
- 1993: The Bank received a general license No 27 from the CBA.
- 2001: The bank was renamed as "Prometey Bank" LLC. It moved to another newly constructed building at 44/2 Hanrapetutyan Street, Yerevan.
- 2007: The bank received licenses for brokerage (dealer) professional operations, custody and trust management of securities in the Armenian securities market.
- 2008: The Bank issued its own bonds which were privately placed.
- 2011: “Global Finance” reputable business magazine selected Prometey Bank as one of the World’s Best Sub-Custodian Banks in 2011 and the “Best Sub-Custodian Bank” of Armenia. This ranking was re-awarded in 2012.
- 2012: A co-branded card project with "IDram" company (the first issuer of e-money in Armenia) and "MasterCard” international reputable payment system was launched.
- 2013: A project was launched with World Wide Fund for Nature Armenian Branch (WWF), the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA and Orange Armenia, to reintroduce the Caucasian Red Deer in Armenia.
- 2018: “Global Finance” for the second year in a row selected Evocabank as The best digital bank in Armenia.
Starting from October 1, 2017, the bank is known as Evocabank, following a re-branding process of the Prometey Bank.
