Prem Poojari (Malayalam : പ്രേം പൂജാരി) is a 1999 Malayalam film directed by Hariharan, starring Kunchacko Boban, Shalini and Vineeth. The plot of the movie is loosely based on another Malayalam Movie Engane Nee Marakkum

Plot

Prem jacob (Kunchacko Boban) wants to become a singer but he was forced to be a brahmin to get a home for rent. There he meet a girl hema (Shalini Ajith).Hema draw a picture of a rose in his shirt and give sweets to him. She gave him a note writing mandan (fool) as he dont realize her love yet. Prem got angry in it and met hema in a park and angrily kisses her. Hema got angry in this and say that she inform her relatives. Prem become afraid and sad and beg her forgiveness and said that he is ready for any punishment. But hema kisses his hands and both hug revealing their love. Later prem tells hema that he is a christian but she dont bother of it. Prem got a cgance tio sing in a movie as playback singer. But hemas marraige got fixed with murali. She was forced to marry murali. She and murali got engaged. Prem got national award for his song and when he sung that song in a program hema emotionally hugs him. Murali got angry in seeing this and hurts hema. Hemas relatives called off their wedding and agree for prems and hemas wedding. Then chanjal prems friend say that murali is great as he understood about hemas relation with prem and done all this to unite them. Hema said that she want to thank murali and rush to airport to see him as he was returning. Murali wishes prem and hema a happy married life and they send off him hugging each other happily
