Pete Birrell

Pete Birrell (born Peter Birrell, 9 May 1941) was a British musician.

Birrell was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester, Cheshire.[1] Trained as an electrician, he played bass guitar in the group Freddie and the Dreamers, which had a number of hit records between 1963 and 1964.[2]

After the Dreamers broke up, Birrell became the chauffeur to the Lord Mayor of Manchester until he retired. His son David Birrell is a stage actor.
