Percy Rivington Pyne I (March 8, 1820 – February 14, 1895) was a migrant from England to the United States. He became president of City National Bank. He was also a director for the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad and the New Jersey Zinc Company.

Biography

He was born in England on March 8, 1820 to Anna Rivington and Thomas Pyne.[1]

He was accepted at Christ's Hospital in London, England for his education, but instead migrated to the United States in 1835 and joined Moses Taylor & Co. as a clerk. He became a partner in 1842.

In 1855 he married Taylor's daughter Albertina.[1] Their children included sons Percy Rivington Pyne II, and Moses Taylor Pyne who was a major philanthropist at Princeton University, and a daughter Albertina Taylor Pyne Russell.[2]

He died in Rome, Italy on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1895.[1]
