Paul Kane High School (PKHS) is a high school in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada and is part of St. Albert Public Schools. The school colours are blue and white. The PKHS sports teams are named the Blues. PKHS is now well known for its many sports programs, including basketball, rugby and football.
Programs of Study
Paul Kane High School is a dual track high school in St. Albert where students can take their core courses with English or French as the language of instruction. Another program students can participate in is the Advanced Placement program which offers all AP programs in either a classroom setting or if that's not available, an individual study program option is available in Onside which is run by Donna Chanasyk. Programs offered: 10-1, 20-1, 30-1; 10-2, 20-2, 30-2. Some 14 and 24 level courses are also offered. Other programs offered are: Off Campus Education including, Work Experience, Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), Hockey Academy, Soccer Academy, Sports Medicine, OnSIDE, Advanced Carpentry 1st Year Apprenticeship Program
Musical Theatre
The school offers a musical theatre program that is offered after school in the first semester. This class is offered to all students as a 15/25/35 course, meaning it is locally developed. The program has student tech and cast with a volunteer adult live orchestra. The program is directed by Lisa Whitson and the music is directed by Carly Carlson.
