Main characters

The main characters are known as the DigiDestined (選ばれし子供達, Erabareshi Kodomotachi), who are a group of children and their partner Digimon chosen to protect the Digital World from the forces of evil. Each child is given a device known as a "Digivice", which serves many purposes, but is mostly used to allow their Digimon partners to Digivolve into stronger forms. A DigiDestined is typically chosen after encountering a wild Digimon and being deemed worthy as a human companion.

However, he rejoins when he realizes that he truly valued the friendships he had with them. He holds the Crest of Friendship (友情の紋章, Yūjō no monshō).
