Original DigiDestined

Taichi "Tai" Kamiya" (八神 太一, Yagami Taichi, Taichi Yagami in the Japanese version)

Tai is the leader of the original DigiDestined. His aggressive and impulsive personality often puts him in danger, but he learns that empathy and compassion are the keys being a successful leader.^[2] He holds the Crest of Courage (勇気の紋章, Yūki no monshō).

In Digimon Adventure 02, Tai attends middle school and passes leadership from himself to Davis Motomiya.^[3] In the series epilogue, Tai and Agumon become diplomats for their respective worlds and Tai has a son with a Koromon.

Tai was designed by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru. In an interview released with the Digimon Adventure DVD box on December 21, 2007, producer Satoru Nishizono revealed that as the staff decided on Tai's name using kanji that related to "luck".^[4]

Yamato "Matt" Ishida (石田 ヤマト, Ishida Yamato, Yamato Ishida in the Japanese version)

Matt is T.K.'s older brother. He lives in Odaiba with his father after his parents divorced. This leads to an awkward relationship between his mother and himself, as he feels that they treat each other more as strangers instead of family.^[6] He takes caution in the Digital World, especially when it comes to T.K.'s safety, and often clashes with Tai, due to the latter's recklessness.^[7][8] While fighting the Dark Masters, Matt begins to doubt his worth to the team and T.K., causing him to leave the group. However, he rejoins when he realizes that he truly valued the friendships he had with them. He holds the Crest of Friendship (友情の紋章, Yūjō no monshō).

In Digimon Adventure 02, Matt forms a band with three other classmates called the Teen-age Wolves (stylized TEEN-AGE WOLVES) and serves as their lead vocalist and bassist.^[9]

In Digimon Adventure tri., Matt becomes a lead singer of a new band, Knife of Day, after the Teen-age Wolves disbanded. In the series epilogue, Matt and Gabumon become an astronaut team and arrive on Mars, even though their destination was the Moon. Matt married Sora and they have two children: a daughter with a Yokomon and a son with a Tsunomon.

Jeff Nimoy, co-screenwriter of the English version for both series, noted that if there were anything he could change about Matt, it would be making him "less indecisive", citing his complication of adapting the script of the scene where Matt confronts his feelings in a cave with Gabumon.^[10]

Sora Takenouchi (武之内 空, Takenouchi Sora)

Sora is Tai's best friend and has been in his class since they were in first grade. Despite being somewhat of a tomboy, Sora takes caution in the Digital World and serves as the mother figure of the DigiDestined.^[11][7] At the beginning of the series, Sora has a difficult relationship with her mother. She holds the Crest of Love (愛情の紋章, Aijō no monshō).

In Digimon Adventure 02, Sora's relationship with her mother has greatly improved. She takes up tennis and flower arranging, learning both from her mother.

In Digimon Adventure tri., Sora manages to help Biyomon remember her, after the reboot is initiated. After saving Meiko Mochizuki, the DigiDestined defeat Meicoomon.

In the series epilogue, Sora and Biyomon become fashion designers. Sora has married Matt and they have two children: a daughter with a Yokomon and a son with a Tsunomon.

Koshiro "Izzy" Izumi (泉 光子郎, Izumi Kōshirō, Koshiro Izumi in the Japanese version)

Izzy is child prodigy with a very high IQ and a computer expert, he lives with his adoptive parents, with his adoptive father being the last surviving relative of the real one. When he initially found out that he was adopted, he began to subconsciously distance himself from his parents, focusing more on his computer instead. The issue was resolved once they came forward with the truth and he accepted them as his true parents.^[12] He holds the Crest of Knowledge (知識の紋章, Chishiki no monshō).

In Our War Game, Izzy discovers a computer virus Digimon invading the internet and turning out to be Diaboromon. Izzy manages to stop everyone from sending many e-mails on the computer, in order to stop Diaboromon.^[13]

In Digimon Adventure 02, Izzy continues to aid the new generation of DigiDestined by using his computing expertise to monitor the Digital World and alert them about any problems.

In Digimon Adventure tri., Izzy works on a new company in the IT business with the base office of operations, creating a program for their partners to travel back and forth between every monitors and the outside world.

In the series epilogue, Izzy researches gateways to the real and digital worlds with Sora's father and Joe's brother, Shuu. He has a daughter with a Motimon.

Mimi Tachikawa (太刀川 ミミ, Tachikawa Mimi)

Voiced by: Ai Maeda (Adventure, 02), Hitomi Yoshida (tri.) (Japanese); Philece Sampler (English)

Mimi is characterized by her blunt and initally selfish nature. She lives with her parents in Odaiba, although an error occurs in the English dub, where she mentions having a baby brother. Realizing that her Digimon friends may sacrifice themselves, Mimi decides to fight back and save the Digital World.^[14][15] She holds the Crest of Sincerity (純真の紋章, Junshin no monshō, Crest of Purity in the Japanese version).

In Digimon Adventure 02, Mimi moves to New York City and dyes her hair pink. Despite the move, Mimi manages to make her way to the Digital World on occasion. In Digimon Hurricane Landing!/Supreme Evolution! The Golden Digimentals (removed from Digimon: The Movie) Davis and Willis defeat Wendigomon to save the others.^[16][17] In Digimon Adventure tri., Mimi moves back to Japan and enrolls in Tai's high school.

In the series epilogue, Mimi and Palmon have become a celebrity chefs and have a cooking show. She has a son with a Tanemon as his partner Digimon.

In a series of online polls conducted on the Digimon website, Mimi was ranked 6th by Japanese voters as Favorite DigiDestined.^[18] When the same question was asked three more times, her rank rose to 3rd,^[19] fell to 9th,^[20] and failed to chart on the final poll.^[21] Mimi is ranked first as the DigiDestined whom voters related to the most.^[22]

Joe Kido (城戸 丈, Kido Jō)

Joe is the oldest of the DigiDestined and was their camp leader. Because of his age, he feels responsible for their safety, but his tendency to panic means the group looks to Tai, Matt and Sora when making choices. He plans to study hard around schools, in order to become a physician. He holds the Crest of Reliability (誠実の紋章, Seijitsu no monshō, Crest of Honesty in the Japanese version).

In Digimon Adventure 02, Joe is still studying to be a doctor and passes his responsibilities to Cody Hida.^[3] In the series epilogue, Joe has become the Digital World's first doctor. He has a son with a Bukamon.

InDigimon Adventure tri., Joe is reluctant to rejoin the DigiDestined, prioritizing his studies over fighting, but eventually finds the resolve to continue fighting.

Takeru "T.K." Takaishi (高石 タケル, Takaishi Takeru, Takeru Takaishi in the Japanese version)

T.K. is Matt's younger brother.^[25] He is characterized as gentle, sweet-natured and generous.^[26] He is also obedient and follows the DigiDestined's lead without complaints. Unlike the others, he lives in Setagaya with his mother due to their parents' divorce. Despite this, T.K. avoids talking about it.^[6] At the start of the series, T.K reunites with Matt and attempts to be brave to "impress" him,^[2] before he eventually open up to the other DigiDestined as well.^[7] He holds the Crest of Hope (希望の紋章, Kibō no monshō).

In Digimon Adventure 02, T.K. and his mother move to Odaiba, where Cody and Yolei are his neighbors. Although much of his physical appearance and voice have changed, his personality has remained.^[27] Joining the new DigiDestined, T.K. obtains the Digi-Egg of Hope (希望のデジメンタル, Kibō no dejimentaru). In the series epilogue, T.K. has become a novelist, having written books about his and the other DigiDestined's adventures in the Digital World. He has a son with a Tokomon. In an audio drama released years after Digimon Adventure 02, T.K. is heard compiling a novel about his journey.^[28]

In a series of online polls conducted on the Digimon website, T.K. was ranked 7th by Japanese voters as Favorite DigiDestined.^[18] When the same question was asked two more times, his rank rose to 2nd,^[19] but fell to 3rd.^[20][21] T.K. is also ranked 1st as whom the voters would want as a younger brother^[29] and as the DigiDestined whom the voters thought was the strongest.^[30] He placed 2nd as the DigiDestined voters would want to switch places with^[31] and as the best-looking DigiDestined in the winter.^[32] When voters were asked which DigiDestined they would want as their boyfriend, T.K. placed in 3rd.^[33]

Kari Kamiya (八神 ヒカリ, Yagami Hikari, Hikari Yagami in the Japanese version)

Kari is Tai's younger sister and is a compassionate girl putting others before herself.^[34][35] She is highly perceptive of her environment and Digimon, but this also leaves her vulnerable to the Dark Ocean and being possessed by Homeostasis. Revealed to be "the eighth DigiDestined child" (八番目の選ばれし子供, Hachi-banme no erabareshi kodomo), Kari admires Tai and is seen as an equal to T.K.^[36] She holds the Crest of Light (光の紋章, Hikari no monshō).

In Digimon Adventure 02, Kari becomes a "smiling, charmingly energetic and bright girl", but sometimes "mischievous" and "playful". She uses a digital camera, after giving a whistle to Gatomon at the end of the first season.^[37] Joining the new DigiDestined, Kari obtains the Digi-Egg of Light (光のデジメンタル, Hikari no dejimentaru). Davis has a one-sided crush on her.^[38] In the series epilogue, Kari has become a kindergarten teacher. She has a son who has inherited her whistle and he has a Salamon as his partner Digimon.

In a series of online polls conducted on the Digimon website, Kari was ranked 4th by Japanese voters as their favorite DigiDestined.^[18] When the same question was asked two more times, her rank fell to 5th,^[19] and then 6th,^[20] but finally landed at 1st.^[21] In addition, Kari is ranked as 1st, whom the voters would want as a younger sister^[29] and as the best-looking DigiDestined in the spring.^[39] She placed in 3rd as the DigiDestined who the voters thought was the strongest^[30] and as the best-looking DigiDestined in the winter.^[32]

02 DigiDestined

Davis Motomiya (本宮 大輔, Motomiya Daisuke, Daisuke Motomiya in the Japanese version)

Davis is the main protagonist of Digimon Adventure 02 and the leader of the new DigiDestined, wearing Tai's goggles after losing his own during battle. He has a one sided crush on Kari and is jealous of her friendship with T.K. Though impulsive and simple-minded, Davis values his friends and is strongly dedicated to protecting them. He openly accepts Ken as a DigiDestined without hesitation after the Digimon Emperor is defeated, and when MaloMyotismon traps the other Kids in mind illusions, Davis is unaffected as his desire to defeat MaloMyotismon is more powerful. He holds the Digi-egg of Courage (勇気のデジメンタル, Yūki no dejimentaru) and the Digi-Egg of Friendship (友情のデジメンタル, Yūjō no dejimentaru).

In the series epilogue, Davis has opened a noodle cart, which eventually expanded into a chain. He has a son who has inherieted Tai's Goggles, making Him the epilogue DigiDestineds' leader. His son has a DemiVeemon as his partner Digimon.

In Digimon Adventure tri., Davis is mysteriously defeated by Alphamon, but is eventually rescued by Tai.

Yolei Inoue (井ノ上 京, Inoue Miyako, Miyako Inoue in the Japanese version)

Voiced by: Rio Natsuki (Japanese); Tifanie Christun, Bridget Hoffman (in "Invasion of the Daemon Corps") (English)

Yolei is the president of the Computer Club at Odaiba Elementary School. She lives in the same apartment building as T.K. and Cody, where her family runs a convenience store on the first floor. Her proficency with computers and technical knowledge allows her to navigate the Digital World easily and she often provides snacks to the DigiDestined. However, Yolei can also be impulsive and idealistic, which sometimes gets her in trouble. She holds the Digi-egg of Love (愛情のデジメンタル, Aijō no dejimentaru) and the Digi-Egg of Sincerity (純真のデジメンタル, Junshin no dejimentaru).

In the epilogue, Yolei becomes a housewife and she and Ken have married and have three children: the oldest a daughter with a Poromon and two sons, the older with a Minomon and a baby with a Leafmon.

In Digimon Adventure tri., she is mysteriously defeated by Alphamon but is eventually rescued by Tai.

Yolei appears in the game Digimon Digital Card Battle, where her name listed as "Keely."

Cody Hida (火田 伊織, Hida Iori, Iori Hida in the Japanese version)

Cody is the youngest member of the new DigiDestined living with his paternal grandfather and kendo master, who fills in as a father figure for his own deceased father Hiroki. After Ken abandons his Emperor persona, Cody initially refuses to trust him, but eventually realizes that Ken has changed for the better. He holds the Digi-egg of Knowledge (知識のデジメンタル, Chishiki no dejimentaru) and the Digi-Egg of Reliability (誠実のデジメンタル, Seijitsu no dejimentaru).

Near the end of the series, Cody learns that his father was Yukio Oikawa's best friend. In the series epilogue, Cody becomes a lawyer, and has a daughter with Upamon as her partner Digimon.

In Digimon Adventure tri., Cody is mysteriously defeated by Alphamon, but is eventually rescued by Tai.

Ken Ichijoji (一乗寺 賢, Ichijōji Ken)

Voiced by: Romi Park (Japanese); Derek Stephen Prince (English)

Ken is the Digimon Emperor (デジモンカイザー, Dejimon Kaizā, Digimon Kaiser) and one of the members for the DigiDestined. He lives with his parents in Tamachi. In the Digital World, Ken was possessed by a Dark Spore created by a Myotismon-possessed Oikawa, which eventually brainwashes him. After losing his older brother, Ken received an e-mail from Oikawa, while falling under the influence of the spore. As the Digimon Emperor, he enslaves many Digimon using Control Spires, Dark Rings, and Dark Spirals. After Davis reveals his identity, Ken stays in the Digital World and pilots his air fortress powered by the "Crest of Kindness". After the DigiDestined defeat his creation Kimeramon, they discover that Ken was under the delusion that the Digital World was a game. After learning the truth and breaking free from the dark spore's influence, a grief-stricken Ken regresses to his normal appearance realizes the error of his ways and abandons his Emperor Persona. After Ken reunites with Wormmon, they join the DigiDestined, in order to protect the digital world and eventually the real one. Ken begins a relationship with Yolei and by the series epilogue are married with three children: the oldest a daughter with a Poromon, and two sons, the older with a Minomon and a baby with a Leafmon. In the series epilogue, Ken works as a police detective with Wormmon assisting him as Stingmon.

In Digimon Adventure tri., Ken is mysteriously defeated by Alphamon, but is eventually recued by Tai. On a related note, the black-clothed look-alike of Gennai posed as Ken's Digimon Emperor form.

Original Partner Digimon

Agumon

Agumon (アグモン)

Agumon is a brave reptile Digimon and Tai's partner. He is simple-minded, but he always believes Tai has the best interests for the team and trusts him as a friend. He has the ability to digivolve into dinosaur-type forms with flame-based attacks.

Aside from normal digivolutions, Agumon also has corrupted digivolutions, brought on from being forced to digivolve against his will, such as SkullGreymon (スカルグレイモン, Sukarugureimon) and MetalGreymon (Virus) (メタルグレイモン (ウィルス種）, Metarugureimon (Wirusu Shu)) during his captivity with the Digimon Emperor.

During the Destiny Stone Arc, Agumon attempts to teach BlackWarGreymon about friendship. When BlackWarGreymon arrives in the real World to confront and destroy Yukio Oikawa, Agumon warp digivolves into WarGreymon to stop him. In the series' epilogue, Agumon and Tai become diplomats for their respective worlds.

Gabumon (ガブモン)

Voiced by: Mayumi Yamaguchi (Japanese); Kirk Thornton (English)

Gabumon is a reptile Digimon wearing a wolf pelt and Matt's partner. He has the ability to digivolve into wolf-type forms with ice-based attacks. He is shy and very loyal to Matt. While Gabumon reasons with him whenever he falls too far, he still supports and trusts Matt with any decision he makes. In the series' epilogue, Gabumon and Matt become an astronaut team and make it all the way to Mars, even though their actual destination was the moon.

Biyomon (ピヨモン, Piyomon, Piyomon in the Japanese version)

Voiced by: Atori Shigematsu (Japanese); Tifanie Christun (TV), Cherami Leigh (tri.), Melodee Spevack (Birdramon, Garudamon) (English)

Biyomon is a bird Digimon and Sora's partner. She has the ability to digivolve into bird-type forms with flame-based attacks. She is expressive about her feelings and is affectionate towards Sora. She helps Sora open up to her mother and mends their relationship. In the series' epilogue, she and Sora become fashion designers.

Tentomon (テントモン)

Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese); Jeff Nimoy, R. Martin Klein (in "Invasion of the Daemon Corps", "BlackWarGreymon's Destiny", "A Million Points of Light"), Joshua Seth ("And so it begins", Motimon, Pabumon) (English)

Tentomon is a ladybug-like insect Digimon and Izzy's partner. He has the ability to digivolve into insect-type forms with electric-based attacks. He is highly intelligent, curious and polite. Although he admires and is fascinated by his curiosity, he cannot understand, he is slightly baffled when Izzy looks at his laptop instead of socializing with his friends and occasionally becomes annoyed when Izzy chooses to investigate mysteries rather than solving other problems.

Palmon (パルモン, Parumon)

Voiced by: Kinoko Yamada (Japanese); Anna Garduno (Palmon, Tanemon), Mari Devon (Togemon), Dorothy Elias-Fahn (Palmon in "A Million Points of Light", Lilymon, Rosemon) (English)

Palmon is a plant Digimon with reptilian features and Mimi's partner. She has the ability to digivolve into plant-type forms with plant-based attacks. She sees the good in Mimi and often tries to make her appreciate what she has. When Mimi first leaves the Digital World, Palmon is unable to say goodbye to her. In the series epilogue, she and Mimi become celebrity chefs and have their own cooking show.

Gomamon (ゴマモン)

Voiced by: Junko Takeuchi (Japanese); R. Martin Klein, Michael Sorich (Zudomon, Vikemon) (English)

Gomamon is a seal-like Digimon and Joe's partner. He has the ability to digivolve into seal-type forms with water-based attacks. Gomamon has a laid-back and easygoing personality, where he often attempts to convince Joe to overcome his fears and socialize instead of studying.

Patamon (パタモン)

Voiced by: Miwa Matsumoto (Japanese); Laura Summer, Bridget Hoffman (in "Revenge of Diaboromon"), Dave Mallow (Angemon, MagnaAngemon & Seraphimon), Jamieson Price (Angemon, MagnaAngemon & Seraphimon in "tri. Confession through Coexistence") (English)

Patamon is a pudgy guinea pig Digimon with bat wings as ears and T.K.'s partner. Due to T.K.'s young age in Adventure, he initially is the last to digivolve into higher forms.In Adventure, he sacrifices himself to defeat Devimon and dies in the process, reincarnating into a Digi-egg afterwards. Because of this, T.K. is sometimes reluctant to let him fight.

Patamon has the ability to digivolve into angel-type forms with light-based attacks. Additional forms not seen in the show include Manbomon (マンボモン), where Patamon uses the Digi-egg of Light to armor digivolve into in the drama CD Michi he no Armor Shinka.

Gatomon (テイルモン, Teirumon, Tailmon in the Japanese version)

Voiced by: Yuka Tokumitsu (Japanese); Edie Mirman (TV), Kate Higgins (tri.) (English)

Gatomon is an exalted beast Digimon in the form of a bipedal cat and Kari's partner. She wears a special ring on her tail that gives her extra strength and prevents dark energy from spreading. Unlike the others, she is a Champion level Digimon and displays a more mature behavior due to her complicated past. While escaping the Dark Masters, Gennai accidentally dropped her Digi-egg, causing her to grow up alone. When she meets Myotismon, she is forced to be his underling, with Wizardmon as her only companion. Upon meeting Kari in the real world, Wizardmon helps Gatomon realize that she may be her Digimon partner, causing her to defect from Myotismon. In Digimon Adventure 02, Gatomon loses her ring after being attacked by a Dark Ring-controlled Unimon, but retrieves it from Gennai at the end of the series.

Gatomon has the ability to digivolve into angel-type forms with light-based attacks. Additional forms not seen in the show include Butterflymon (バタフラモン, Batafuramon, Butterflamon), where Gatomon uses the Digi-egg of Knowledge to armor digivolve into in the drama CD Michi he no Armor Shinka.

Aside from normal digivolutions, Gatomon also has corrupted digivolutions. When Kari believes Tai had died in Coexistence, her overwhelmingly negative emotions force Gatomon to warp digivolve into Ophanimon: Falldown Mode (オファニモン：フォールダウンモード, Ofanimon: Fōrudaun Mōdo, Ofanimon: Falldown Mode) before being absorbed by Raguelmon as the latter digivolves into Ordinemon (オルディネモン, Orudinemon). But Gatomon was extracted from Ordinemon before joining the other DigiDestined Digimon in destroying her.

In a chat room hosted by YTV with the English dub producer, Terri-Lei O'Malley mentioned that Salamon was named after her pet cat.^[45]

02 Partner Digimon

Veemon (ブイモン, Buimon, V-mon in the Japanese version)

Voiced by: Junko Noda (Japanese); Derek Stephen Prince, Steven Blum (Flamedramon, Raidramon, Magnamon) (English)

Veemon is a blue dragon-like Digimon and Davis' partner. Veemon can use the Digi-eggs of Courage, Friendship, and Miracles to armor digivolve, but he eventually learns to digivolve naturally into dragon-type forms. Additional forms not seen in the show include Sagittarimon (サジタリモン, Sajitarimon), where Veemon uses the Digi-egg of Hope to armor digivolve into in the drama CD Michi he no Armor Shinka.

Hawkmon (ホークモン, Hōkumon)

Voiced by: Kōichi Tōchika (Japanese); Neil Kaplan, Steven Blum (Pururumon, Poromon) (English)

Hawkmon is a hawk-like Digimon and Yolei's partner. Compared to Yolei, he is down-to-earth and helps her learn to be realistic. Hawkmon can use the Digi-eggs of Love and Sincerity to armor digivolve, but he eventually learns to digivolve naturally into hawk-type forms. Additional forms not seen in the show include Rinkmon (リンクモン, Rinkumon), where Hawkmon uses the Digi-egg of Friendship to armor digivolve into in the drama CD Michi he no Armor Shinka. In the video game Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer, he can also Digivolve into Valkyrimon (ヴァルキリモン, Varukirimon).

Armadillomon (アルマジモン, Arumajimon, Armadimon in the Japanese version)

Armadillomon is an armadillo-like Digimon and Cody's partner. He has a laidback personality and speaks with a Nagoya dialect, usually ending his sentences with "da gya." In the English dub, he speaks with a Southern United States accent. His easygoing nature is a sharp contrast to Cody's serious personality. Armadillomon can use the Digi-eggs of Knowledge and Relaibility to armor digivolve, but he eventually learns to digivolve naturally into Ankylomon. Additional forms not seen in the show include Pteramon (プテラノモン, Puteranomon, Pteranomon), where Armadillomon uses the Digi-egg of Love to armor digivolve into in the drama CD Michi he no Armor Shinka. In the video game Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer, he can also Digivolve into Vikemon (ヴァイクモン, Vaikumon).

Wormmon (ワームモン, Wāmumon)

Wormmon is caterpillar Digimon and Ken's partner. He possesses the ability to crawl and generates silk from his mouth. When Ken becomes the Digimon Emperor, Wormmon stays by his side in hopes that he will return to his normal self one day. Realizing Ken has lost who he once was, Wormmon sacrifices himself to allow Magnamon enough energy to destroy Kimeramon. He is later reincarnated at Primary Village and meets a reformed Ken. Additional forms not seen in the show include Bucchiemon (プッチーモン, Putchīmon, Pucchiemon), where Wormmon uses the Digi-egg of Kindness to armor digivolve into in the drama CD Michi he no Armor Shinka. In the video games Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer and Digital Card Battle, he can also Digivolve into Dinobeemon (ディノビーモン, Dinobeemon) and GranKuwagamon (グランクワガーモン, Gurankuwagamon).

Meiko is a DigiDestined from Tottori, who transfers to Tsukishima High School. She has a shy and kind demeanor. After obtaining her Digivice in 1999, Meiko becomes distraught Meicoomon goes feral and felt very guilty towards her friends. While Meiko keeps the residual malice within Meicoomon in check, the power manifests as an infection within her.

Meicoomon (メイクーモン, Meikūmon)

Meicoomon is a Champion level Maine Coon cat Digimon and Meiko's partner. She was given the name "Libra." Meicoomon contains a shard of Apocalymon's data within her body, which manifests as an infection. This forces Homeostasis and Hackmon to deem Meicoomon a threat while King Drasil and Dark Gennai see her a means to destroy the humans as they have Alphamon attempt to capture her before Dark Gennai proceeds to cause Meicoomon to be consumed in Apocalymon's influences.

In Determination, Meicoomon Digivolves into her Ultimate form, Meicrackmon Vicious Mode (メイクラックモンヴィシャスモード, Meikurakkumon Vishasu Mōdo) and kills Leomon. Though subjected to the reboot, Meicoomon retains her memories of Meiko as Dark Gennai causes her to relapse. In Coexistence, she Digivolves into her Mega form, Raguelmon (ラグエルモン, Raguerumon). Eventually, through Drasil's plan, she absorbs Gatomon (as Ophanimon Falldown Mode), while swallowing the real world into the Digital World as Ordinemon (オルディネモン, Orudinemon). But Omnimon destroys Ordinemon with Dark Gennai retrieving the Apocalymon shard from her being.

Digital World

Gennai (ゲンナイ, Gennai)

Gennai is a data-based human and a guide of the DigiDestined. Four years ago, Gennai protected all eight Digi-eggs from Piedmon and sends them to File Island, though he accidentally loses Gatomon's egg in the process. As an elder, he assigns them to retrieve all lost crests and tags at the Server Continent. Gennai modifies Izzy's computer, enabling him to make contact by email for both worlds, which he uses on several occasions. After Tai and his friends destroy Apocalymon, Gennai sends the children home, suggesting them to leave their partners at the Digital World.

In Digimon Adventure 02, Gennai uses the DigiCore given from Azulongmon and regains his youthful appearance. When Digimon begin appearing around the world, he helps the DigDestined remove all evidence with his clones Benjamin (ベンジャミン, Benjamin) (America), Jackie (ジャッキー, Jakkī) (China), Hogan (ユーカリ, Yūkari, Eucaly in the Japanese version) (Australia), José (ホセ, Hose) (Mexico), and Ilya (イリア, Iria) (Russia).

In Digimon Adventure tri., a dark-clothed Gennai clone who believes humans would eventually enslave the Digimon, aiding King Drasil in his scheme of using Meicoomon to destroy humanity with their world absorbed into the Digtial World. Dark Gennai initially posed as Ken in his Digimon Emperor attire while searching for Meicoomon. Revealing himself after the Digital World's reboot, Dark Gennai forces Meicoomon to relapse so King Drasil's scheme would succeed. Through the plan failed, Dark Gennai takes advantage of Meicoomon's demise to retrieve Apocalymon's data while returning to the Digital World to try again with Daemon and Diaboromon. The real Gennai was found in a statis pod alongside Davis, Yolei, Cody and Ken, before being rescued by Tai.

Homeostasis (ホメオスタシス, Homeosutashisu)

Homeostasis is a digital lifeform and one of the host computers that run the Digital World. First appearing in Adventure, she made contact with and possessed Kari to bring up the history of the Digital World where she also showed the fight between Parrotmon and Greymon as well as Piedmon's invasion on the Agents' base.

In the Digimon Adventure tri films, Homeostasis is the one who had the Digimon of the original DigiDestined Digivolved to the Harmonious Ones during a losing battle against the Dark Masters. In "Confession", Homeostasis possesses Kari, to inform the DigiDestined about the Digital World, the Real World and the Reboot. In Coexistence, Homeostasis possesses Kari again and informs the DigiDestined not to interfere in Jesmon's attempt to eliminate Raguelmon as she was the one sending him. In Future, Homeostasis forces King Drasil to shut down after Ordinemon's defeat.

Meramon (メラモン)

A Champion-level fire Digimon and a neighbour of Yokomon living in Mount Miharashi on File Island. He is possessed by a Black Gear, but Birdramon destroys it. Later, Meramon aids the DigiDestined in their fight against the Dark Masters. In Digimon Adventure 02, A Meramon appears as the partner of an Indian DigiDestined named Mina.

Andromon (アンドロモン, Andoromon)

Voiced by: Kiyoyuki Yanada (Japanese); Michael Sorich (English)

A cyborg-type Digimon whom the DigiDestined meet in a factory on File Island, he is possessed by a Black Gear, but Kabuterimon destroys it. Later, Andromon aids the DigiDestined in their fight against the Dark Masters. In Digimon Adventure 02, Andromon is possessed by a Dark Ring, but comes across Tai, T.K., and Kari, each face activating part of his old memory, which he recalls as a photograph he took of their last meeting four years ago. Andromon breaks free of the Dark Ring's influence and destroys it. He then proceeds to reprogram the Gardromon in the domed city.

Leomon (レオモン, Reomon)

Voiced by: Hiroaki Hirata (Japanese); Paul St. Peter (English)

A humanoid lion Digimon and Ogremon's long-term rival, living on File Island. In Digimon Adventure, Leomon is brainwashed by Devimon, but Tai and Matt free him by using their Digivices. Later, he helps them defeat Devimon. Leomon eventuslly gains the abililty to Warp-Digivolve into the sabretooth lion Digimon SaberLeomon. Though sacrificing himself in defeating Metal Etemon, Leomon is revived at Primary Village following Apocalymon's defeat. In Digimon Adventure tri., Leomon visits the human world, where he is killed by Meicoomon, who senses the infection.

Ogremon (オーガモン, Ōgamon)

Leomon's rival and a Champion-level Digimon living on File Island. He is a brutish, aggressive character, but shows a sense of honor and admiration for Leomon. They are possessed by Devimon, but are freed after Devimon's defeat. After Joe and Mimi recruit Ogremon, they defeat MetalEtemon and save both worlds from the Dark Masters and Apocalymon.

Centarumon (ケンタルモン, Kentarumon)

A one-eyed centaur Digimon in a helmet with pipes on it's humanoid back living in an ancient temple on File Island and is knowledgeable on the history of the Digivices. After Izzy and Mimi destroy the Black Gear on him, Centarumon explains to them the history of the Digivices. Proir to the Kids' battle with Apocalymon, he and Gennai examine the Wall of Fire, which tells them about Apocalymon. After the Kids defeat Apocalymon, the two worlds revert to normal.

Elecmon (エレキモン, Erekimon)

A Rookie-level rabbit-like Digimon and the caretaker of Primary Village, where all Digimon are born from Digi-Eggs. After the DigiDestined defeat the Dark Masters and Apocalymon, Elecmon returns home.

Whamon (ホエーモン, Hoēmon)

A whale Digimon and a friend to the DigiDestined, transporting them to Server after freeing him from a Black Gear that was in his stomach. He leads them to the hidden location of the Tags in an underwater cave. Whamon comes to the rescue of the DigiDestined when cornered by MetalSeadramon, swimming into the deepest part of the Net Ocean until found by MetalSeadramon's Divermon army. Whamon rescues WarGreymon from MetalSeadramon, but is mortally wounded. In Adventure 02, Whamon helps bring Cody and Joe to an underwater oil platform that the other New DigiDestind are trapped in while Ikkakumon battles a Dark Spiral-controlled MegaSeadramon.

Piximon (ピッコロモン, Pikuromon, Picklemon)

Piximon is a famous trainer in the Digital World. He trains the DigiDestined to work together, and helps Tai and Agumon face their fears of Digivolving after Tai forced Greymon to Digivolve into SkullGreymon. Piximon sacrifices himself to save the DigiDestined from the Dark Masters.

Wizardmon (ウィザーモン, Wizāmon, Wizarmon)

Wizardmon is a Champion-level Digimon and Gatomon's friend who accompanied Myotismon's forces to the Real World. He is killed by Myotismon while protecting Kari and Gatomon from him. In Digimon Adventure 02, Wizardmon appears as a ghost at the Fuji TV Station, telling the DigiDestined a prophecy concerning Myotismon's return and about Ken's redemption through the power of a Golden Digi-Egg.

Azulongmon (チンロンモン, Chinronmon, Qinglongmon)

Azulongmon is one of the four Digimon Sovereigns, the ruling guardian Digital World's Eastern Hemisphere who is based on Seiryuu. In Digimon Adventure 02, the Sovereigns were revealed to have been sealed away by the Dark Masters during the events for the first series with the DigiDestined sacrificing their Crest powers. During BlackWarGreymon's assault on the Destiny Stones, Azulongmon was freed by the DigiDestined and defeated BlackWarGreymon. He loaned the DigiDestined two of his DigiCores, allowing the DigiDestined to Digivolve to past their Champion forms. In Digimon Adventure tri., Azulongmon and the Sovereigns were originally the Digimon partners of the first DigiDestined.

Hackmon (ハックモン, Hakkumon, Huckmon)

Willis is is an American DigiDestined living in New York City, appearing in Digimon Hurricane Touchdown/Supreme Evolution! The Golden Digimentals and in the CD drama, Natsu e no Tobira. As a resident of Denver, Willis owns twin Digimon partners: Terriermon and Kokomon. When Kokomon gets infected by a virus, he digivolves into Wendigomon. However, Davis and his friends save Kokomon from being infected.

Michael

Michael is a DigiDestined residing in New York and a friend of Mimi's. In 1999, Michael witnessed Gorillamon climbing the Empire State Building, leading him to become a DigiDestined and partnered with Betamon. When Digimon started appearing around the world, Michael helped Davis and Mimi round up the ones in New York and battle a berserk Cherrymon.

Incorporate Administrative Agency

Daigo Nishijima (西島 大吾, Nishijima Daigo)

Daigo is Tai's substitute teacher and one of the government agents at Incorporate Administrative Agency. He is described as warm, friendly, compassionate and light-hearted. The prequel flashback revealed that Daigo was one of the original DigiDestined predating Tai's group, serving the same leadership role as Tai with his Digimon partner becoming Azulongmon. After falling off from the canyon cliff to the facility, Daigo suffers from blood loss as he later dies in an explosion while sending Tai, Davis, Yolei, Cody and Ken back to the real world.

Maki Himekawa (姫川 マキ, Himekawa Maki)

Voiced by: Yuko Kaida (Japanese); Cherami Leigh (English)

Maki is Daigo's friend and one of the government agents at Incorporate Administrative Agency. She assigns Tai and his friends to reunite with their partners at the rebooted Digital World. She hides crucial information from them about Meicoomon's power and the disappearance of others, but the evidence is revealed. The prequel flashback revealed that Maki was one of the DigiDestined predating Tai's group, serving as Homeostasis' medium like Kari and becoming disillusioned over her partner Tapirmon needing to sacrifice himself for the Digital World. This influenced Maki to ally herself with Dark Gennai to revive Tapirmon through the Digital World's reboot, only to suffer a mental breakdown over Tapirmon not remembering her as she ends up entering the Dark Ocean.

Adventure antagonists

Devimon (デビモン, Debimon)

Voiced by: Kaneto Shiozawa (Japanese); Tom Wyner (English)

Devimon is devil Digimon with a long arms and bat wings. He can enslave other Digimon with his "Touch of Evil" claw attack in conjunction with the Black Gears, which turn Digimon embedded with them into his slaves. They are used to control each part of File Island. Devimon lives on top of Infinity Mountain, using Orgemon and a Black Gear-infected Leomon as his enforcers in an initial attempt to kill the Digidestined before using the gears to fracture File Island to separate the DigiDestined from each other. After the children regroup, Devimon absorbs most of the Black Gears into his body to increase his increase, only to be destroyed by Angemon. In Digimon Adventure 02, Ken finds Devimon's remains and uses his data to complete Kimeramon.

Etemon

Etemon (エテモン)

Voiced by: Yasunori Masutani (Japanese); Richard Epcar (English)

Etemon is a puppet Digimon with sunglasses. He is very egotistical and charismatic, and often abusive to his subordinates. He rules over a portion of the Server Continent using a power source known as the Dark Network, which he uses to keeps tabs on the DigiDestined and prevent their partner Digimon from Digivolving. Etemon is served by his Gazimon henchmen, a Kokatorimon, and an army of Monochromon, and Tyrannomon. After the DigiDestined infiltrate Etemon's pyramid base, Etemon and his rival, Datamon, fall into the network, causing Etemon to fuse with it to become Etemon Chaos (エテモンカオス, Etemon Kaosu). When he is defeated by MetalGreymon, he causes a vortex that sends Tai back to the Real World. Etemon later returns as a Mega-level cyborg Digimon named MetalEtemon (メタルエテモン, Metaru Etemon). He is defeated by Zudomon and SaberLeomon. In the English version, Etemon's voice and mannerisms are reminiscent of Elvis Presley.

Myotismon (ヴァンデモン, Vandemon, Vamdemon)

Myotismon is a vampire Digimon. In Digimon Adventure, he establishes an army of Digimon and sets out to find and kill the eighth DigiDestined child. After discovering that Kari is a DigiDestined and Gatomon is her partner, he captures them both, but he is later destroyed by AngeWomon. He returns in his Mega form, VenomMyotismon (ヴェノムヴァンデモン, VenomuVandemon, VenomVamdemon), but he is destroyed by WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon after Tai and Matt unlock Mega evolution. His soul, however, survived and he possesses Yukio Oikawa, after tricking him with the promise of entering the Digital World.

Throughout several years of directing Oikawa into creating a plan to ensure his return to power, Myotismon reveals himself in the World of Dreams. He absorbs the bloomed Dark Flowers to become the Dark Lord-type Digimon MaloMyotismon (ヴェノムヴァンデモン, BeriaruVandemon, BelialVamdemon). After killing Arukenimon and Mummymon, he attempts to place the new DigiDestined in delusions without interference, but Davis is able to get them out. Myotismon battles the DigiDestined in the Digital World, but Imperialdramon, with help from everyone from all over the world, defeats him for good.

DemiDevimon

DemiDevimon (ピコデビモン, Pikodebimon, PicoDevimon)

DemiDevimon is a blue bat Digimon and Myotismon's servant. He tricks the DigiDestined members into forgetting themselves and to prevent the power of their crests from activating. DemiDevimon escapes Myotismon's initial defeat, but oversees the prophecy that leads to his resurrection as VenomMyotismon, who then devours DemiDevimon.

Apocalymon (アポカリモン, Apokarimon)

Voiced by: Chikao Ōtsuka (Japanese); Paul St. Peter (English)

Apocalymon is a demonic Digimon attached to a large structure from the waist down who the first series final antagonist, responsible for the chaos in the Digital World. He was born within a void from the data of Digimon who died because they unable to digivolve and adapt, becoming consumed by their collective sadness and rage as he grew to bitterly hate the Digital World itself. In the Japanese version, he refers to itself as "we."

Besides his ability to regenerate, Apocalymon can use his structure claw-like attachment to replicate the attacks of other Digimon while using his "Reverse Digivolve" to revert the DigiDestined's Digimon to their default forms. After replicating Devimon's Dark Claw to take the Digidestined's Crests and destroys them, Apocalymon turns the kids and their Digimon into data, but the DigiDestined use the power of their Crests within their hearts to restore and heavily damage Apocalymon. He attempts to destroy everything with his final attack Total Annihilation, only for the power of the Digivices to confine the resulting explosion.

In Digimon Adventure tri., it's revealed that a cube of Apocalymon's data survived and became the core of Meicoomon, whom King Drasil and Dark Gennai exploit to have the residual evil possess her and wipe out humanity. The plan failed with Meicoomon's demise, but Dark Gennai recovers the cube and decides to ally himself with the DigiDestined's enemies Daemon and Diaboromon to plan out a new use for Apocalymon's data.

Dark Masters

The Dark Masters are a group consisting of four Mega-level Digimon. In Digimon Adventure tri., the Dark Masters are revealed to have made a previous attempt to kill the first DigiDestined until Tapirmon sacrificed himself so his fellow Digimon can digivolve into the Digimon Sovereigns, resulting in the Dark Masters' defeated. But in 1999, the Dark Masters took advantage of the current DigiDestined returning to their world to seal away the Sovereigns and then convert the Digital World into Spiral Mountain which they divide into four territories. As the DigiDestined learn, each Dark Master's defeat causes their domain to dissolve and be eventually reconstituted for the restored Digital World.

MetalSeadramon (メタルシードラモン, MetaruShidoramon)

Voiced by: Yuuto Kazama (Japanese); Doug Erholtz (English)

MetalSeadramon rules over the Net Ocean, appearing as a large sea dragon covered in golden armour where he is served by Scorpiomon and a group of Divermon. Extremely stubborn, temperamental, and fierce, he attempts to destroy the DigiDestined. MetalSeadramon is eventually defeated by WarGreymon as his domain begins to cease. In Digimon Adventure tri.: Loss, a reboot version of MetalSeadramon is defeated by Agumon, Gabumon, and Gatomon.

Puppetmon (ピノッキモン, Pinokimon)

Voiced by: Etsuko Kozakura (Japanese); David Lodge (English)

Puppetmon is a forest puppet inspired by Pinocchio. He has the mind of a child, being immature, playful with a rotten temper while treating his minions Kiwimon, Blossomon, Mushroomon, Floramon, Deramon, Cherrymon, and a group of RedVegiemon as playthings that he destroys on a whim. He lives into a toy-like mansion which can transform into a giant wooden robot. While he can control others with strings and has an arsenal of real firearms, he wields Bullet Hammer mallet, which uses energy blasts. When the DigiDestined entered his domain, Puppetmon abducts T.K., but he escapes. Later, when Tai's group attempt to fight Puppetmon, he tries to escape, but he is killed by MetalGarurumon.

Machinedramon (ムゲンドラモン, Mugendoramon)

Voiced by: Hisao Egawa (Japanese); Dave Guerrie (English)

Machinedramon is a robotic dinosaur armed with two large cannons. He has an emotionless, cold, calculating mind and speaks with a whispery voice. He often resorts to military strategies in combat, including scorched earth strategies. He rules over Spiral Mountain's cityscape, and commands a vast army of machine Digimon consisting of Hagurumon, Megadramon, Gigadramon, and an army of Mekanorimon and Tankmon. Machinedramon targets the DigiDestined as they explore the city, leading them to fall into the city's lower levels. He destroys an army of Numemon previously enslaved by his minion WaruMonzaemon, before being defeated by WarGreymon. In Digimon Adventure tri.: Loss, a reboot version of Machinedramon is destroyed by Phoenixmon, HerculesKabuterimon, and Seraphimon.

Piedmon (ピエモン, Piemon)

Voiced by: Chikao Ōtsuka (Japanese); Derek Stephen Prince (English)

The leader and forth of the Dark Masters, Piedmon is a Majin-type Digimon dressed as a colourful pierrot who possesses a number of magical tricks and wields four swords. He maintains an upbeat but sadistic sense of humor, displaying a passion for fighting. Four years prior to the events of series, Piedmon led and army of Gardromon and Mekanorimon in attacking the Agents' base and stole all the crests and tags, while Gennai protected the Digi-Eggs. Piedmon lives on top of Spiral Mountain in a large observatory-funhouse building in a rocky wasteland to observe the actions. In addition, he is served by LadyDevimon and an army of Vilemon. However, he is defeated by WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon who send him flying right into MagnaAngemon's Gate of Destiny.

02 antagonists

Kimeramon (キメラモン)

Voiced by: Tom Wyner

Kimeramon is a Composition Digimon created by Ken while as the Digimon Emperor to be his ideal Digimon partner to help him take over the Digital World. Kimeramon has Kabuterimon's head, Greymon's lower jaw and torso, Garurumon's back legs, Monochromon's tail, one of Kuwagamon's left arms, SkullGreymon's right arm, Airdramon's wings, Angemon's top wings, and MetalGreymon's hair. After acquiring the data remains of Devimon, manifesting in his upper arms, Ken completes Kimeramon. Devimon's data intensified his combat instinct and made him beyond Ken's control. When Davis uses the Digi-Egg of Miracles, Magnamon uses Wormmon's power to destroy Kimeramon.

Arukenimon (アルケニモン, Arachnemon)

Voiced by: Wakana Yamazaki (Japanese); Mari Devon (English)

Arukenimon is a drider-like Digimon who is extremely cunning with great intelligence but has an equally scary temper. Created by Oikawa, she assumes her human form with white hair, spider clothes and large shades concealing her eyes. After overseeing Ken's actions as the Digimon Emperor from behind the scenes, she appeared before the DigiDestined in her human form as she uses "Spirit Needle" hair on the Control Spires to transform into enemy Digimon. In the end, Arukenimon is killed by MaloMyotismon.

Mummymon (マミーモン, Mamīmon)

Mummymon is a mummy Digimon. Created by Oikawa, he wears a royal blue coat and hat and wields a cane. The two work for Oikawa in their attempt to change the Digital World. However, he is killed by MaloMyotismon when he tries to avenge Arukenimon.

BlackWarGreymon (ブラックウォーグレイモン, Burakkuwogureimon)

BlackWarGreymon is an artificial black Digimon clone of WarGreymon, created by Arukenimon from a hundred Control Spires, but the complexity of his composition made BlackWarGreymon self-aware and consumed with an existential crisis. He assumed the answer was by battling Azulongmon as he destroyed six of the seven the Destiny Stones to face him. When Azulongmon fully manifested with the DigiDestined's help and easily defeated him, BlackWarGreymon is reprimand for endangering their realties before leaving to find his purpose elsewhere. He later confronts Oikawa for disrupting the balance of both Earth and the Digital World. After being fatally wounded by a Myotismon-possessed Oikawa, BlackWarGreymon sacrifices himself to become a seal to the Highton View Terrace Gate as his attempt of preventing Myotismon from entering the Digital World.

Yukio Oikawa (及川 悠紀夫, Oikawa Yukio)

Oikawa is a human aware of the Digimon's existence. As a child, he and Cody Hida's father, Hiroki, promised to visit the Digital World together. After Hiroki's death, Oikawa makes a deal with Myotismon to enter the Digital World, leading him to becoming possessed. Under Myotismon's influence, Oikawa creates Arukenimon and Mummymon, and later, the three abduct children to absorb power bloomed from the Dark Spores implanted in them. When Oikawa tries to enter the Digital World, he ends up in the World of Dreams, where he is mortally wounded by MaloMyotismon. After the DigiDestined defeat MaloMyotismon permanently, Oikawa meets Datrinimon and uses the World of Dreams to convert himself into data-based butterflies, restoring the Digital World.

Daemon (デーモン, Demon)

Daemon is a demon lord Digimon of Wrath with a robe concealing his true appearance, able to travel to the human world and back. Daemon appeared on December 26, 2002 in Japan with his minions MarineDevimon, LadyDevimon and SkullSatamon to retrieve the Dark Spore within Ken for their use. Ken uses his inner darkness to change the portal's location to the Dark Ocean, trapping Daemon there. In Digimon Adventure tri., Dark Gennai decides to ally himself with Daemon and Diaboromon after his plan with Drasil fails.

Parrotmon (パロットモン)

Parrotmon is a large bird Digimon invading Highton View Terrace in 1996. He is defeated by Greymon, but. His presence led to higher powers in the Digital World selecting the eight DigiDestined. The battle in Highton View Terrace was forgotten by all who witnessed it, though Kari had memories of Koromon.

Diaboromon (ディアボロモン)

Diaboromon is a computer virus Digimon who first appears in Digimon Adventure: Children's War Game! (the second part of Digimon: The Movie). First appearing as a Digi-egg, he invades the internet after hatching into Kuramon and wreaks havoc across Japan and America's electrical systems while Digivolving into his current state. He launches nuclear missiles to wipe out the DigiDestined. Omnimon dispatches the clones before destroying him, with the missiles being disabled and crashing into the water.

In Revenge of Diaboromon, he survives and reconstitutes himself. He traps Omnimon, Angemon and Angewomon, while sending millions of Kuramon into Tokyo to converge and combine into Armageddomon to destroy Tokyo, but Imperialdramon Paladin Mode defeats Armageddomon with the Kuramon sent back into the internet. In Digimon Adventure tri., Dark Gennai decides to ally himself with Daemon and Diaboromon after his plan with Drasil fails.

Alphamon (アルファモン, Arufamon)

Alphamon is a black knight Digimon armed with the Holy Sword Gradalpha and the Ouryuken (王竜剣) broadsword. He is King Drasil's servant and defeats Davis, Yolei, Cody and Ken. Following his defeat by Omnimon, Alphamon later returns to Meicoomon in fighting against Jesmon and Omnimon.

King Drasil (イグドラシル, Yggdrasill in the Japanese version)

King Drasil is a host computer-like being in the form of a tree. He sends Alphamon to rescue Meicoomon, who holds a shard of Apocalymon's data. In addition, he has a dark-clothed clone of Gennai as his servant. After the reboot of the Digital World, Hackmon delivers a message from Homeostasis to Daigo. Drasil uses Meicoomon to try to destroy humanity and absorb the real world. However, the plan fails after Omnimon destroys Ordinemon and Drasil is shut down by Homeostasis.

Hiroaki is Matt and T.K.'s father. He works as a reporter at Fuji TV and tends to be a workaholic, but has a nice demeanor. He finds out about his sons' connection to the Digimon during Myotismon's invasion. He is named after his voice actor in the television series, Hiroaki Hirata.

Nancy Takaishi (高石 奈津子, Takaishi Natsuko, Natsuko Takaishi in the Japanese version)

Nancy is Matt and T.K.'s mother and a newspaper reporter. In Digimon Adventure 02, Nancy moved to Odaiba.

Haruhiko is Sora's father and an anthropology professor at Kyoto University. He researches the information of the Digital World.

Toshiko Takenouchi (武之内淑子, Takenouchi Toshiko)

Toshiko is Sora's mother, who urged her to quit soccer to help out with flower arranging after Sora's leg gets injured. This initially caused a rift between the two until Sora realizes her mother truly loves her. She is named after her voice actress in the television series, Toshiko Fujita.

Masami Izumi (泉政実, Izumi Masami) and Kae Izumi (と泉佳江, Izumi Kae)

Kae: Voiced by: Kae Araki (Japanese); Mari Devon (English)

Masami and Kae are Izzy's adoptive parents. After Masami and Kae lost their son, they take care of Izzy as a ward after his real parents died in a car accident. When Izzy overhears them discussing this as a child, he feels distant from them until he understands they truly consider him as their son. They are named after their voice actors in the television series, Masami Kikuchi and Kae Araki.

Jim Kido

Voiced by: Masami Kikuchi (Japanese); Doug Erholtz (English)

Jim is Joe's older brother. In the original version, Joe had two older brothers, but due to an error in the English version, both brothers were portrayed as a single character. Joe's first older brother, introduced in Digimon Adventure, is Shin Kido (城戸シン, Kido Shin), who helps him out during Myotismon's attack. In Digimon Adventure 02, Joe also had another older brother, Shu Kido (城戸シュウ, Kido Shu), who is the eldest in the family and is also a college student working with Sora's father, Haruhiko Takenouchi. In the drama CD Michi e no Armor Shinka, they go on a date with June and Yolei's older sisters and eventually get their own Digimon in the drama CD Digimon Adventure: Original Stories.

June Motomiya (本宮ジュン, Motomiya Jun, Jun Motomiya in the Japanese version)

June is Davis' older sister and a fan of the Teenage Wolves. She has a one sided crush on Matt, but stops pursuing him when she discovers his relationship with Sora after he saw her saving her the night when some Digimon crashed the Teenage Wolves' concert. Jun starts a relationship with Shuu. She eventually gets her own Digimon in the drama CD Digimon Adventure: Original Stories.

Chikara Hida (火田主税, Hida Chikara)

Chikara is Cody's paternal grandfather living with the boy and his daughter-in-law Fumiko. He trains Cody in kendo, and serves as a father figure in place of his son and police officer Hiroki.

Meiko's father is a professor, who had a failed experiment on Meiccomon. The couple visit Odaiba, while helping the DigiDestined members destroy Meicoomon.

Minor Digimon

Digitamamon (デジタマモン)

An Ultimate-level Digimon encased in a partially hatched egg with Peter Lorre's voice. He is the owner of a diner who wants to run a good business despite his short temper and being judgmental. He forces Joe and Gomamon into working at his diner, alongside his Vegiemon employee, to pay off the debt they own him after failing to provide the preferred currency. After Matt and Gabumon arrive and resolve to help their friends out, Digitamamon is bribed by his acquaintance DemiDevimon to keep the two boys and their Digimon in his employment while the imp causes "accidents" to lengthen the debt. Tai and T.K. eventually arrive at the diner, and try to persuade Matt and Joe to simply walk out. Demidevimon is then exposed and Digitamamon fights the boys, only to be sent flying by Weregarurumon. His diner falls into disrepair some time during the Dark Masters' reign and is ripped from its place in the Digital World, becoming part of Piedmon's wasteland. In the second season, Digitamamon turns over a new leaf and wants to make a good living despite repeating his past mistakes. He falls victim to a Dark Spiral but is freed by Shurimon, befriending the DigiDestined. Digitamamon later opens a new Chinese restaurant with Tapirmon, using the waters of a spring that conceals the last Destiny Stone as the secret ingredient to his popular noodle soup.

Tapirmon (バクモン, Bakumon)

An animal Digimon works at the Chinese Restaurant in Digimon Adventure 02. Another Tapirmon appears in Digimon Adventure tri. as Maki's Digimon partner, able to digivolve into Megadramon (メガドラモン, Megadoramon) before sacrificing himself to enable his fellow Digimon to prevent the Dark Masters from invading the world. After the reboot of the Digital World, a revived Tapirmon doesn't remember Maki.

Numemon (ヌメモン)

Voiced by: Yūji Ueda, Hiroaki Hirata, Masami Kikuchi

Ugly, slimy, slug-like mutant Digimon living in the sewers. They have some difficulty adapting to sunlight. An army chase the DigiDestined at File Island, but come to their aid against Monzaemon after their leader meets Mimi. A group of Numemon appear as slaves for WaruMonzaemon in Machinedramon's city, but rebel against him, praising Kari as their saviour. The Numemon try to fight Machinedramon, but he destroys them.

Gekomon (ゲコモン), Otamamon (オタマモン) and ShogunGekomon (トノサマゲコモン, TonosamaGekomon)

A group of recurring amphibian Digimon, the frog-like champion Gekomon and the tadpole-like rookie Digimon Otamamon serve the huge frog-like ShogunGekomon, who fell asleep for three-hundred years after suffering from the depression of losing a singing contest. They live in the castle. DemiDevimon tricks Mimi into being the leader princess of Gekomon and Otamamon. After Mimi regains her senses, she sings a song to wake ShogunGekomon up. He goes on a rampage, but MetalGreymon stops him. When Mimi and Joe are separated from the others, they reunite with Gekomon and Otamamon, who tell them that their castle was destroyed due to world collision. In Digimon Adventure 02, ShogunGekomon and the group rebuilt their castle as a feudal Japanese village. When the Control Spiral appears, it possesses ShogunGekomon, Ninjamon and others. However, Kari and her friends destroy the Control Spire, in order to free them.
