PITHAPUR RAJA's GOVT COLLEGE Kakinada, is one of the Oldest Colleges in India. It was established in 1884 by Sri Rajah Rao Venkata Mahipathi, Gangadhara Rama Rao, Bahadur. It was started as a middle school in 1853 and later became a full-fledged College. The College was affiliated to Andhra University and later attained autonomous status by the UGC (University Grants Commission (India)) with the approval of Andhra University and Government of Andhra Pradesh in May 2000.
