Ongkor Festival
The Ongkor Festival (Tibetan: འོང་སྐོར་, Wylie: 'ong skor, or Serkor (སེར་སྐོར་) in some dialects) is one of most important Tibetan festival of the Tibetan lunar year. Ongkor is usually in the end of summer. Meaning of the festival is "good wish for harvest", literally "make circle around the field". During this festival, one person from each family in village participate on kora in the fields. People in procession dress traditional clothes and play different roles - warriors, riders, drummers and prayers or monks. In some region performs Tibetan opera, drummer dance and horse racing. During this festival, people can see many different disciplines of traditional Tibetan singing, dancing, art of debate, dreesing and praying.
Recently this festival might be known as "Horse race festival", due to travel agencies who want to attrack tourists.
