The greedy olalla rat (Olallamys edax) is a species of rodent in the family Echimyidae.[2] It is found in Colombia and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
The etymology of the species name corresponds to the Latin word edax meaning greedy.[3]
