Nyambi

Nyambi is a mythical deity of old Hambukushu tribe in the north western region of Botswana, in Southern Africa. The myth tells a story of the creation of people from a molten rock. It says that people were required by Nyambi to pass through a fire for purification after creation. Dark skinned people are said to have passed slowly through the fire; while light skinned people passed through fast. The Hambukushu believe that Nyambi created animals after molding people from the same molten rock.
