North Kazakhstan State University, named for M. Kozybaev (NKSU) (Russian: Северо-Казахстанский государственный университет имени М.Козыбаева; Kazakh: М.Қозыбаев атындағы Солтүстік Қазақстан мемлекеттік университеті), in Petropavl, Kazakhstan, was established in 1937 by the Council of People's Commisars of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic as the Petropavlovsk Teachers Training Institute.

It is today the leading multi=disciplinary institution of higher education of the North Kazakhstan Region. The university enrolled more than 12,000 students in 10 academic departments.
