Norodom Arunrasmy (Khmer: នរោត្តម អរុណរស្មី; born 2 October 1955) a Cambodian royal politician and diplomat who is the youngest daughter of HM King Father Norodom Sihanouk and stepdaughter of Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk. Her birth mother is Mam Manivan Phanivong, a Lao woman who was born in Vientiane, Laos, who married King Sihanouk in 1949. She was born in Phnom Penh on October 2, 1955. Princess Arunrasmy attended primary school at the Petit Lycée Descartes in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and attended secondary school at a Roman Catholic boarding school called Mater Dei in Kep province. She is fluent in Khmer, Lao, Thai, French, and English.

She was selected as the Funcinpec candidate for the 2008 Cambodian parliamentary elections[1], and was the Cambodian Ambassador to Malaysia from 2005 to 2018 before being nominated to the Senate by King Norodom Sihamoni.[2]

Family

Arunrasmy married Major Prince Sisowath Sirirath in 1970,[3] with whom she had three children: Sisowath Nakia, Sisowath Nando and Sisowath Sirikith Nathalie. They divorced in 1991, and she married Keo Puth Rasmey, with whom she had two children: Keo Ponita Rasmey Norodom and Keo Khemoni Rasmey Norodom.[4]

Official Titles and Awards

On February 21, 1994, King Norodom Sihanouk elevated the princess to the rank of Preah Ang Machas Reach Botrei Preah Anoch. She was elevated again by King Sihanouk to the rank of Samdach Reach Botrei Preah Anoch on 31 August 2004. The princess has received many awards. She is an officer of the Royal Order of Her Majesty the Queen, Preah Moha Ksatriyani Preah Sisowath Kossamak Nearyrath, Commander of the Royal Order of Monisaraphon, and more.
