Plot summary
On a stormy February afternoon, little Stella Rivers disappears and is never seen again. Then, on a warm November day, fifty-year-old John Lawrence fails to come home, and nice, happy, pleasant letters begin, which make the best, spoken imaginings a fabulous reality.
