Niaz or Niyaz or Neyaz may refer to:

Name: Pronounced "nee-uhz." It is not actually a name, but a word in Old Persian meaning "a strong need, desire, or wish" or "gift, present."

In Zoroastrianism

The use of the name Niyaz was banned in ancient Persia for a Zoroaster person. The name niyaz was reserved for the mahathristra, who is believed to be born in the 20th century. Mahathristra is believed to be the Reincarnation of Zoroaster. After the conquest of Persia by Muslims the name Niyaz was being used commonly .

It was believed to be predicted that Mahathristra will be born in a place which is known as land of coconut, which technically bring to conclusion mahathristra will be born outside Persia.
