New Taipei Industrial Park (Chinese: 新北產業園區) is a station on the Taoyuan Airport MRT located in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan.[1] The station opened for commercial service on 2 March 2017, and is currently one of the five express stations on the line.[2] It is a planned transfer station with Taipei Metro Circular line.

Station overview

This elevated station has two island platforms with 4 tracks for Commuter and Express trains.[3] The station is 132 metres (433 ft) long and 32 metres (105 ft) wide. It opened for trial service on 2 February 2017, and for commercial service 2 March 2017.[4][2] The station is equipped to handle in-town check-in and luggage handling, although it does not currently offer these services.

Future developments

It is a planned transfer station with the Taipei Metro Circular line, which will be an elevated station with side platforms.[5] It will be the only station in Taiwan serving two elevated rapid transit lines. The station will be about 87 metres (285 ft) long, 23 metres (75 ft) wide, and 33.5 metres (110 ft) high, and connected to an integrated development building. The theme will be "flight".

History

  • 2 March 2017: The station opened for commercial service with the opening of the Taipei-Huanbei section of the Airport MRT.
