The Towamba River bridge is an heritage-listed road bridge across the Towamba River at New Buildings in the Bega Valley Shire local government area of New South Wales, Australia. The property is owned by Roads and Maritime Services, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. The bridge is also called the New Buildings Bridge over Towamba River. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 20 June 2000.[1]

History

The current bridge was built c.1919-20 following the destruction of the previous bridge in a major flood in 1919.[2]

The bridge was closed for repairs for several weeks in 2017 following issues discovered in routine inspections.[3]

Heritage listing

The New Buildings Bridge over Towamba River was listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 20 June 2000.[1]
