The successive Mussolini cabinets form the longest-serving cabinet in the history of united Italy as the cabinets under Mussolini stayed in office from 31 October 1922 to 25 July 1943 for a total of 7572 days (20 years, 8 months and 25 days). On taking office, the government was composed as such:
- Three from the National Fascist Party: Alberto De Stefani, Giovanni Giuriati, Benito Mussolini and Aldo Oviglio.
- Two from the Italian People's Party: Stefano Cavazzoni and Vincenzo Tangorra.
- Two from the Italian Social Democratic Party: Gabriel Carnazza (later turned Fascist) and Giovanni Antonio Colonna di Cesaro.
- One from the Italian Liberal Party led by Antonio Salandra: Giuseppe De Capitani D'Arzago.
- One from the Italian Liberal Party led by Giovanni Giolitti: Teofilo Rossi (as the successor of Orso Mario Corbino).
- One from the Italian Nationalist Association, later merged with the Fascist National Party: Luigi Federzoni.
- Two from the military: Armando Diaz and Paolo Thaon di Revel.
- One independent and later on Fascist: Giovanni Gentile.
From 1 July 1924 forward, all other parties were purged and the government was composed exclusively of Fascists, except for a few military officers.
