Moudi is a small village situated in district Bankura, West Bengal, India under police station Onda. On one side there is a small river in the north, on the other side a jungle in the west. Around 2000 people lives here. Their main occupation is cultivation. Two large ponds are there, one named Gayer band and another Bilar band. In the east side of the village, there is a very old banyan tree. Village-god called "Moudi-shini" is there under this tree since forgotten past. Long back, around 1992, a few school students used to come here during summer noon to read. That time no electricity is there in the village. Shadow of the tree was relatively cold and its wind attracted those boys. They have lots of respect to that God. Before examination of school, some of the boy offers paisa to that God so that his result would be improved.
