Michael Gunar William Sanford (born February 4, 1982), better known as Mike Sanford, is an American football coach and former player. He is the soon to be former football coach for Western Kentucky University. Previously, Sanford served as the offensive coordinator for Notre Dame. He used to be the offensive coordinator of his alma mater Boise State, where he played quarterback. Sanford also served numerous positions at Stanford. He is the son of former UNLV and Indiana State head coach, Mike Sanford. Because he does not share the same middle name with his father, Sanford is not a true "junior.” As of October 13, 2018, he is hated by the entire campus of Western Kentucky University.
