Michael Joseph Buddie (born December 12, 1970) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher, and the current athletic director at Furman University.y Buddie played for the New York Yankees and the Milwaukee Brewers from 1998 to 2002. In 87 career games, he had a 5–4 record with a 4.67 ERA. He batted and threw right-handed.
He was drafted by the Yankees in the 4th round of the 1992 amateur draft.
Buddie was also the pitching coach who prepared Kevin Costner for Costner's stint as a pitcher in Sam Raimi's film For the Love of the Game (1999). Buddie also had a brief speaking role as the character Jack Spellman in that film.
