Midalam

Midalam is a small village situated in the west coast of Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. Midalam is surrounded by natural boundaries in the Arabian Sea, lovely place surrounded with coconut trees.

Midalam is a small village.which is 30 km from Nagercoil, headquarters of Kanyakumari District and 55 km from Trivandrum capital city of Kerala. It shares border with Enayam, Thengapattanam at the west side Kurumbanai, Colachel at the east. Karungal on the north, Arabian Sea to the south. It is connected with nearby villages and town by road.

The Kovalam Colachel Canal popularly known as AVM Canal (Anantha Victoria Marthandam Canal) which passes through this village linking up to Kanyakumari was encroached by settlers. This waterway was operation from Mondaikadu to Poovar 55 years ago. In some places it is filled with coconut trees and has suffered encroachment.
